Tim Cook might be one of the most recognized people in the world—so recognized, that he has to fly via private aircraft. Yet, US president Donald Trump has somehow gotten his name wrong.
Last Wednesday, the Apple CEO was invited to the White House to attend a meeting of the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board. There, he discussed the significance of technology in education with Trump—who unmistakably called Cook “Tim Apple.”
“People like Tim—you’re expanding all over and doing things that I really wanted you to do right from the beginning,” POTUS declared at the meeting.
“I used to say, ‘Tim, you gotta start doing it here,’ and you really have you’ve really put a big investment in our country. We really appreciate it very much, Tim Apple.”
This is not the first time Trump has messed up people’s names. Back in 2018, he called Lockheed Martin’s CEO “Marillyn Lockheed,” instead of Marillyn Hewson.
He also has a rep for using nicknames on people. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, for example, was referred to as “Jeff Bozo.”
