Wieden + Kennedy Rolls Out Tourism Campaign In Space To Lure Aliens To Earth
By Izza Sofia, 08 Mar 2019
Russia’s largest domestic air carrier S7 Airlines has teamed up with creative advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam to create a six-part “comedic documentary series” to call upon aliens to come to Earth.
The series titled Visit Earth might claim to be “made for aliens,” but what it really is is a reminder to humankind that there is more to Planet Earth than meets the eye.
W+K’s creative director Evgeny Primachenko says the fun planet is full of ice cream, mountains, puppies and many more, but humans appear to have taken it for granted.
Not only does the ad aim to raise brand awareness for S7 Airlines, but it also wants to inform viewers of how lucky they are to live here and call themselves “earthlings.”
The W+K team traveled around the world for earthbound quirks that are likely to entice intergalactic neighbors; these include Italian cheese bowlers and Icelandic nudists.
The finished result will be projected into space to tempt alien visitors, and will reach the obscure exoplanet Gliese 581C within 20 years.
