Apple’s AirPods have become sort of a status symbol of late—they’re the truffle fries of earbuds. Wires are officially stupid, it seems, and even Android phonemakers Samsung and Xiaomi agree.
The elitism of AirPods makes them befitting of a regal painting from the Renaissance era, don’t you think? Perhaps this is why the audio products seem to blend oh-so-seamlessly in this humorous new design challenge.
The fun Photoshop battle was started by creative advertising agency Article Group, which recently called upon designers to edit Apple’s wireless earbuds onto renowned artworks.
To start the ball rolling, the firm began editing the products into Girl with a Pearl Earring, Vincent van Gogh’s self-portrait, and more.
The results that ensued were incredible, but the best part of it all is that the design challenge wasn’t just created in the name of fun. Article Group donated US$500 in the names of the challenge’s top five photoshoppers to Brooklyn Arts Council, which is music to the creative community’s ears.
