SNL Jumps On ‘Momo Challenge’ Hype With Hilarious Fried Chicken Commercial Skit
By Izza Sofia, 11 Mar 2019
If you thought the latest ‘Momo Challenge’ phase was a little upsetting, get ready for ‘Bok Bok’.
In the latest SNL sketch, a fictional fast food chicken restaurant employs a creepy mascot by the name of ‘Bok Bok’, who looks eerily alike the hoax that purportedly pressured children into performing violent acts.
The creepy mascot has piercing blue eyes, long black hair and a smile that could haunt you in your sleep.
In the hilarious skit, ‘Bok Bok’ appears out of nowhere to promote the restaurant’s deep-fried chicken wings, terrifying parents and their children as they approach the counter.
Customers ordering by the drive-through window, on the other hand, get the misfortune of meeting ‘Bok Bok’ on their car seats.
While ‘Bok Bok’ looks a lot like ‘Momo’, SNL assures she’s not a threat. All she asks is for you to purchase some fried chicken thighs.
The skit comes after the viral ‘Momo Challenge’ that appeared on various social media platforms including YouTube and Instagram. It is said that ‘Momo’ pushed kids to the brink of suicide, prompting parents to raise awareness on the dare, which has now been proven to be a hoax.
