If you’ve ever wanted to fry your own version of KFC’s chicken comprising 11 secret herbs and spices, this might be your closest bet.
KFC UK and Ireland is offering entry to any of its 300 kitchens at £5 (US$6.64) per ticket on Saturday, 30 March. Aside from touring the area, visitors will be able to watch the process of what goes into its iconic ‘Original Recipe’ chicken.
“We’re really proud of the food we serve, and of all the care that goes into making our chicken taste as incredible as it does,” says Rob Swain, KFC UK and Ireland’s chief operations officer. “We want to welcome everyone in to give them the chance to see what makes it so finger lickin’ good and invite them to try keeping pace with our amazing team members.”
That’s not all—customers will also be invited to bread, fry, and construct their own KFC burgers. They’ll even have their cake—ahem, chicken—and eat it too; the sandwiches will be served alongside ‘Original Recipe’ chicken, fries, a second side and a beverage.
As a memento of their fleeting experience as Colonels, visitors will be gifted a KFC hat, apron, and “some elusive chicken checks.”
Ticket sales will go to the KFC Foundation, which works with charities that support the development and nurturing of youths.
You can purchase your tickets here, but don’t dilly-dally—they’re distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.
