L’Oreal Paris Creates Astonishing New Makeup Ads Targeted At Men
By Izza Sofia, 09 Apr 2019
L’Oreal Paris has joined forced with McCann Worldgroup Deutschland to launch a unique campaign that stands up for female empowerment.
The new ads depict visuals typically directed at women, including striking red backgrounds and beauty imagery. They are, however, created for men, and include statistics with the playful tagline, “Hire more women in leadership roles. We’re all worth it.”
According to research done by the two companies, 91.4-percent of management and governing boards in Germany are made up of men. Interestingly, the duo found that women in top roles usually outperformed their male coworkers.
The findings also also reveal that if women were to occupy 30-percent of managerial positions, profitability might be boosted by 15 percent. In management reviews, female employees were found to perform 24-percent better than men, and women leaders generated approximately 20-percent more patents each year. Based on these statistics, McCann created the gender stereotype reversal ads to highlight its findings to the public.
Speaking about the ads, the agency aims to correct the perception of women leaders and to inject a little humor. The agency also used L’Oreal products to make the infographics appear eye-catching.
