IKEA Creates Smart Ads That Direct Customers To Visit Its Store… By Foot
By Izza Sofia, 11 Apr 2019
IKEA has launched a smart campaign to promote its sustainable store in London’s Greenwich, and what better way to get to the location than through the most eco-friendly mode of transport?
Produced with creative company Mother London, the outdoor ads double as directional signages to encourage Londoners to check out the store by… walking there.
Each poster displays the exact number of steps needed to get to the store. The campaign is also accessible-friendly, and shows a public transport route provided by Transport for London for people who cannot walk. These posters will be up for six months and are found across 80 outdoor sites in South East London.
For walkers wondering how to bring their purchases home, IKEA has reduced the delivery charges from £35 to £15 (US$45.80 to US$19.63) to anyone living 40 minutes away from the store. The offer will only run for the first 10 weeks of the store’s opening.
