While Game of Thrones is a fantasy series, it has nuances worth exploring by the scientific community.
Students at the Technical University of Munich, who remarkably predicted the return of ‘Jon Snow’ after his death in season five, have now closed in on who is most likely to survive the trials and tribulations of the series.
In a press release, the young researchers detail that, after developing an application that would cull the web and gather information about the show, they’ve prepared a special algorithm that forecasts the survival rates of each remaining character.
The findings can be perused on the team’s dedicated GoT-themed website, ‘GoT.show’. Most notably, it describes that ‘Daenerys Targaryen’ is the most likely to remain and take over the iron throne, as her probability of dying is only 0.9 percent. She is followed by: ‘Tyrion Lannister’ (2.5 percent); ‘Varys’ (3.2 percent); ‘Samwell Tarly’ (3.3 percent); ‘Jaime Lannister’ (four percent).
The students cite that the characters are also assessed based on gender and whether they are nobles or peasants. Females and nobles are most likely to live through the show.
In contrast, the study foreshadows the deaths of ‘Bronn’ (93.5 percent), ‘Gregor Clegane’ (80.3 percent); ‘Sansa Stark’ (73.3 percent); ‘Bran Stark’ (57.8 percent); ‘Sandor Clegane’ (47.5 percent).
The research might back up whatever is hinted in the season’s official Spotify playlist, which GoT’s creators claim is where fans should dig into to discover its ending.
