The identity of Game of Thrones’ ‘Night King’ has long been revealed, but it’s not the answer that fans have been expecting.
As terrifying as the supreme leader is, the ‘Night King’—surprise, surprise—has a human face: that of the actor who plays him, Vladimír Furdík.
As discovered by LADbible, Furdík is a 48-year-old stuntman from Slovakia who also appeared in Thor: The Dark World and The Huntsman: Winter’s War—so he’s not frightening like his GoT counterpart, but he’s just as imposing.
Furdík filled in the shoes of the character after his predecessor, Richard Brake, had to leave the show due to scheduling issues. Brake played the ‘Night King’ in seasons four and five.
What’s interesting is that Furdík himself is an Easter egg. Before he took over the role, he acted as the ‘White Walker’ who was killed by ‘Jon Snow’ at ‘Hardhome’. While the promotion has nothing to do with the plot, things seem to have come full circle, as he now plays the first of the ‘White Walkers’.
