Burger King Creates Anti-‘Happy Meals’ For Those Who Aren’t Always That Smiley
By Izza Sofia, 02 May 2019
Burger King decided to take a jab at McDonald’s unnaturally optimistic ‘Happy Meal’ with its latest set meals.
With ‘Real Meals’, customers get to order meals based on how they are feeling that day. These boxed meals come in five boldly colored boxes for various moods but happy.
Choices comprise the ‘Pissed Meal’, ‘Salty Meal’, ‘Blue Meal’, ‘YAAAS Meal’ and ‘DGAF Meal’.
The pressure to always appear happy and perfect is apparent especially in the world of social media, but with ‘Real Meals’, Burger King invites diners to embrace who they are and how they truly feel.
The campaign is also tied to an important cause: to show support for Mental Health Awareness Month, which takes place throughout May.
Burger King partnered with Mental Health America to highlight issues surrounding mental illnesses and to promote overall mental health among individuals.
The duo also released a film, which sees the fast food chain swapping its “Have It Your Way” tagline to something more authentic: “Feel Your Way.”
