Godzilla: King of the Monsters rose to the surface to lead the box office at its opening weekend, but there’s one plot issue that’s befuddling audiences.
Ernest Ng, a Malaysian comic artist of Instagram account @dontlikethatbro, thinks there’s “one Godzilla-sized problem” with the film. The monster is apparently 393 feet tall, but the sea has a rough depth of 12,100 feet.
How, then, did he manage to stand upright above water in both the movie and poster?
The illustrator has an idea—or eight. In a humorous collection of sketches, he’s envisioned the monster being hoisted by various platforms, including an underwater mountain, a pile of garbage, a “friendly whale,” and even super-high platform shoes.
In the end, Ng settles for the concept he enjoys the most: that the creature just has freakishly long limbs and is secretly the “king of legs.”
Swipe through the post below for some laughs, and head over to Ernest Ng’s comic collection on Instagram for more witty illustrations.
