A Californian woman tried to snap a picture of her first-ever lobster roll, but a seagull managed to snag it before she could sink her teeth into the snack.
Sport law professor Alicia Jessop purchased a lobster roll at Fox’s Lobster House in Maine and decided to capture it by holding the food item against a picturesque background of a seashore overlooked by a lighthouse.
After a little maneuvering to get the roll in the perfect position, Jessop proceeded to snap the photo, but her lobster roll was gone.
As it turns out, a seagull had swooped it to nab the snack, later feasting on it with feathered peers.
What came out of the whole situation was a perfect snap that showed the seagull stealing the sandwich she had on hand. Jessop shared her mishap on Twitter, which promptly racked up more than 100,000 likes.
Jessop went back to the shop to purchase another lobster roll, and unfortunately had to pay the full price of the item again despite showing the employee the “seagull attack picture.”
Considering recent events, it does seem that these seabirds make great photobombers. Not long ago, a duo of seagulls gained internet fame for continuously posing in front of a traffic camera.
This is why we can’t have nice things. I was trying to take a picture of the lobster roll I ordered in Maine and well, this happened 😂🤦🏻♀️ pic.twitter.com/N601vpQ41h— Alicia Jessop (@RulingSports) June 7, 2019
$43 and one seagull attack later, I am now enjoying my first lobster roll at Fox’s Lobster House in York, Maine. pic.twitter.com/ZsBFjakcfU— Alicia Jessop (@RulingSports) June 7, 2019
I had to get two. I showed the girl the seagull attack picture and she didn’t even throw me a discount. https://t.co/rtRy3dJ4bp— Alicia Jessop (@RulingSports) June 7, 2019
I literally was snapping the pic as this happened. I had no clue he was headed my way, because I was trying to get the correct angle with the lighthouse. Then the jerk swooped in on me and snatched my lobster roll! A lady was videotaping the whole scene from her car 😂🤦🏻♀️ https://t.co/jtAZ6CCWrw— Alicia Jessop (@RulingSports) June 7, 2019
He tossed all of the good stuff out of the bread and all of his friends swooped in. Big L for me.— Alicia Jessop (@RulingSports) June 7, 2019
