In an era where people are hiding kale and black beans in brownies, Kraft has gone all krafty to disguise a much-revolted food item as something to be welcomed at birthday parties.
The food manufacturer has unveiled ‘Salad Frosting’, which is created specially for kids—or the picky eater in your life—in hopes of making the experience of eating greens a little more enjoyable than it seems.
The “frosting” isn’t actually new. In fact, it’s just Kraft’s ‘Classic Ranch Dressing’ repackaged in a frosting tube with colorful sprinkles on the wrapper.
Ranch dressing also happens to be the “most popular dressing” in the US, the company shares in a press statement. Mask it as frosting, and you can have your most restless diners eating whatever you feed them.
Kraft encourages parents to tell white lies to kids so that they will eat their salad or broccoli. “If it gets kids to eat their greens, so be it,” says Sergio Eleuterio, Kraft’s Head of Marketing.
“Simple innocent lies are not only part of parenthood, but a true tactic used by parents everywhere. Kraft Salad 'Frosting' is one lie you won’t feel bad telling your kids,” he adds.
The limited edition item can’t be purchased, and will be handed out to 1,500 witty US residents who aren’t afraid to ‘#LieLikeAParent’. Twitter users are encouraged to relate their best parent lies on the social media platform to receive a sample of the “frosting.” You can find out more about the program on www.KraftLieLikeAParent.com.
