Nike Mysteriously Warns Shoppers Of ‘Lost Shipment’ That Should Not Be Opened
By Izza Sofia, 12 Jun 2019
Nike has launched a rather cryptic campaign that has left fans scratching their heads.
The initiative features bright red billboards placed all over New York City and Los Angeles reading the header, “LOST SHIPMENT.” Below, passersby can find a warning to “approach the shipment” on their own accord and contact the relevant authorities as soon as possible via the hotline 1800-561-1985.
A short clip has also been shared on the Nike Store Twitter account, depicting footage of a truck with the company’s logo driving off the parking space. In line with the telephone number, the video is also dated 6 June 1985.
We acknowledge that several shipments from 1985 have gone missing. Please call 1.800.561.1985(🇺🇸) with any info. pic.twitter.com/Lm5LYr5wio— Nike.com (@nikestore) June 10, 2019
According to Footwear News, if you call the number on the ad, you will be connected to a prerecorded message between ‘Laura’ from Nike and an individual called ‘Jim’.
‘Jim’ can be heard explaining that he found the missing sneaker shipment in 1985, but later found that, “There’s something supernatural about it.”
He then asks ‘Laura’ to meet him on 12 June at a parking lot near W Pico Boulevard and S flower Street in Los Angeles, which a customer has pinpointed to this area:
No doubt the ad has left some people confused, with at least one Nike fan inquiring what it all meant. The company vaguely replies, “Just know, things are about to get strange.”

Fans have, however, picked up on the keyword, “strange,” pointing out that a Stranger Things x Nike collaboration could be underway. This theory supports an announcement by renowned shoe leaker @py_rates, who first had intel that Nike was going to team up with the Netflix original.
