An amusement park in South Korea has gone viral among thrill-seekers—but do not get too excited just yet.
A video of the ‘Gyro Drop’ ride in South Korea’s Lotte World has been making its rounds on Facebook, and shows the drop tower tripling in size when ferrying riders to the top.
When the attraction’s gondola nearly reaches the peak, visitors are sharply dropped, with the ride slowing down into a giant merry-go-round. Guests are then pulled back into the gondola, before going through a free-fall drop from the top and drawn back to the ground.
Although the drop is real, it turns out that the clip has been edited to make it look much scarier than it actually is. The original ‘Gyro Drop’ takes daredevils to the peak of its 230-foot tower via a gondola, then falls to the foot of the tower at 62 mph. Unfortunately, there is no giant swing and it doesn’t extend in size.
