Converse Debuts White Sneakers That Change Color When They Hit Sunlight
By Izza Sofia, 19 Jul 2019
Converse is dropping a series of sneakers that take customization to a whole new level. The Converse x Chinatown Market collaboration involves original variations of the ‘Chuck 70’ high top and the ‘Chuck 70 Ox’ low top. Whichever sneaker silhouette you prefer, both kicks will bring out the fun in sneaker lovers.
With the help of special technology, the silhouettes change hues when exposed to UV light, allowing wearers to enjoy a more hands-on experience, according to Footwear News.
The footwear initially appears like classic white kicks with white rubber toe caps and matching rubber soles. When the sun hits, however, the shoes transform to display fun colors like orange, blue and pink. Like the uppers, the soles also undergo this magical metamorphosis.
The collaboration is set to drop on 20 July via thechinatownmarket.com. The Converse ‘Chuck 70’ will set you back US$100, while the ‘Chuck 70 Ox’ costs US$95.
