Opening Ceremony x Melissa’s New Line Honors Nostalgic Looks From 90s Films
By Mikelle Leow, 05 Aug 2019
While it doesn’t feel like it, the 90s was three decades ago, though it’s now swinging back into the fashion sphere. Case in point: this chic collection by footwear retailer Melissa and NYC-based clothing label Opening Ceremony.
The new Melissa x Opening Ceremony capsule celebrates aesthetics from renowned 90s films like 10 Things I Hate About You, Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion, Empire Records and Clueless, drawing inspiration from memorable yet oftentimes cringeworthy pieces from the era.
New silhouettes include the ‘Hatch’ sandals with fisherman netting, the ‘Ladii’ low-block heel, and the ‘Flipp’ slides, all of which feature Melissa’s proprietary vegan and recyclable jelly-like material, ‘MELFLEX™’.
The peppy, limited edition range is available exclusively at Melissa’s boutiques and online.
