Marmite Fans Finally Discover ‘Genius’ Jar Design, Turn Internet To Its Side
By Izza Sofia, 20 Aug 2019
Marmite fans were surprised after they found out that the flat sides of the Marmite jar are designed to help you scrape out the last bits of the spread.
The mind-blowing hack was discovered by Twitter user @casioroee, who decided to share it with other users together with a snap of the Marmite jar sitting on its side. “Near-empty” Marmite jars should be positioned on the side so you can get “the last of it out more easily,” he claimed.
His tweet has garnered hundreds of likes, with many Marmite fans seemed impressed by the hack. “That is genius,” one Twitter user wrote. Another user said that he would “relish placing it on its side” once the current jar is almost finishing.
It took me years to realise that near-empty Marmite jars should be kept on their side so you can the last of it out more easily. That’s why the jar is flat is the sides pic.twitter.com/X4q8iUsFXw— John (@casioroee) August 18, 2019

All those years of desperately trying to scrape out the last bit! When my current jar is close to empty, I shall relish placing it on its side in the cupboard. Thank you!— Luce (@challis_luce8) August 18, 2019
