It’s no fun squeezing your wallet for change. The key is to take small steps that, while minimal, add to a bigger picture.
If finances aren’t your strong suit, this simple visual guide by Victoria Devine of Australian podcast She’s On The Money promises a “foolproof” approach to saving $10,000 a year. $10,000.
Devine’s chart, via Yahoo Finance Australia, is a pretty straightforward chart with 52 boxes representing 52 weeks in a year.
Simply cross out any box each week and transfer the specified amount into your bank account. If you stick to the calendar, you’ll easily save $10,000 within a year.
There’s even a cheat week, when you won’t have to stash away a single cent.
“Having clear goals often makes it easier to achieve financial targets,” the podcast describes.
While it’s already September, it’s not too late to start. You’ll have an extra five-figure sum by next September if you keep at it. You can also save this calendar for later if you plan on incorporating it in your New Year’s resolution plans.
