Chrissy Teigen is not one to shy away from Twitter feuds, even if it stems from the president of the United States.
A recent social media clash sparked when Donald Trump involved celebrity couple Chrissy Teigen and John Legend in his rant about a town hall on criminal justice that aired on Sunday night on MSNBC.
Trump expected some credit for signing the First Step Act into law. This legislation enables federal inmates to complete their terms earlier than expected, expediting some of their mandatory minimum periods and allowing judges to have more leeway in sentences.
With approval from lawmakers from both political sides, Trump anticipated the recognition but to no avail.
His Twitter rant began, “I SIGNED IT INTO LAW, no one else did, and Republicans deserve much credit. But now that it is passed, people that had virtually nothing to do with it are taking the praise.”
He then followed the tweet with a complaint directed at Legend, who was at the MSNBC town hall, roping in Legend’s wife Teigen as well.
“Guys like boring musician John Legend, and his filthy mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is—but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed,” the president addressed.

Teigen was not having any of it. She retaliated through a tweet tied with a string of profanities, “(L)ol what a p**** a** b****. Tagged everyone but me. An honor, mister president,” she responded.

The next morning after Teigen’s comeback tweet, “#TeamChrissy” and “#filthymouthedwife” were trending on Twitter.
Legend criticized the president with a less “colorful” choice of words. “Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC hoping somebody—ANYBODY—will praise you,” he tweeted.

Social media users, alongside notable personalities, also rallied in support of Teigen for going head on with the president.

I’m so in love with @chrissyteigen right now. I’ve deleted dozens of Trump tweets because I feared the P word might offend, but not today because President Trump is a bonafide PUSSY ASS BITCH!!! https://t.co/peMuL5fIhx— Morgan J. Freeman (@mjfree) September 9, 2019
