Diesel’s New Ad Encourages You To Enjoy Its Products Before Returning Them

Most fashion retailers have return policies that can be easily milked by customers. This means devil-may-care shoppers can wear all the free clothes they want, as long as they return the garments in perfect condition, with the labels attached, and within a specified grace period.
The behavior isn’t encouraged, but Diesel is aware some customers might make use of the loophole anyway. In a new tongue-in-cheek campaign called ‘Enjoy Before Returning’, the brand has spotlighted its logo via labels of clothing that wearers are planning on returning later.
The advert, produced by advertising firm Publicis Italy and broadcasted ahead of New York Fashion Week, depicts people out and about in Diesel wear, evident by the labels still attached to the garments. A voice dramatically reading the store’s return policy booms throughout the video.
Diesel is also planning to launch a “return party” for once-worn clothing at London Fashion Week, so this 60-second commercial is on brand.
