McDonald’s Sweden has turned public spaces into free-for-all museums by putting up masterpieces that are also a feast for the eyes.
To introduce its new ‘Big Mac Bacon’, the chain has rolled out a series of posters and print ads featuring classic artworks, namely Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vincent van Gogh’s self-portrait and Grant Woods’ American Gothic, with an extra twist: they all come with bacon.
In addition to the visual treats, the brand has also inserted hints of bacon into Beethoven’s Für Elise on radio.
The delicious campaign is a joint effort between advertising agency NORD DDB Stockholm, PR agency Prime and media agency OMD.
