In-N-Out Burger is iconic for its “animal style” smashburgers, but—pardon the pun—God knows why it has Bible verses printed on its cups and food wrappers.
The cult fast food chain’s owner and heiress, Lynsi Snyder, has finally spilled the beans as to why its packaging is emblazoned with the holy phrases.
In a rare interview with The Christian Post, Snyder divulged that it was her late Uncle Rich who started the gesture of placing biblical quotes on cups and wrappers in the early 90s.
Her uncle “had just accepted the Lord,” she explained, adding that he was inspired to “put that little touch of his faith” to the In-N-Out brand.
Snyder herself embraced Christianity following the death of her father as a child, in addition to three failed marriages.
She decided to continue her relative’s legacy and make her faith known by expanding the application of verses to In-N-Out’s french fry holders and coffee cups.
According to Forbes, Snyder currently has an estimated net worth of US$3 billion.
