There are no event organizers as notorious as the ones who organized the flopped Fyre Festival, but it seems that social media has found a contender.
A Brunchella event set up by Kanye West’s team for his 1 November Sunday Service concert has been likened to the music festival-gone-awry, as visitors have lamented it had served them measly portions for US$55.
West performed with a choir at Bethany Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Friday, and while admissions to the event were free, members of the audience were invited to attend a Brunchella breakfast buffet to raise funds for the church at US$55 per head.
At that price, guests were understandably expecting a feast, but it seems like at least one visitor left the concert hungry. A photo circulating online shows one concertgoer being fed just two small pancakes, two strips of bacon and a pale sausage patty on a styrofoam plate, bringing up memories of Fyre Festival’s miserable sandwich.
“This is the wonderful and COLD brunch BUFFET we are being served… and the server looked at me crazy when I asked for another pancake,” the disappointed guest wrote.
The plate was so sparse, Digiday news editor Ilana Kaplan said West’s spread made Fyre Festival’s food “look good.” Another Twitter user thought the event might as well have been named “BrunchFromHella.”
Lauryn’s Fine Catering, the caterer of the buffet, has since defended to TMZ that the incident was documented by only one guest and did not represent the portions served to everybody.
While the company admitted to not serving enough food to “ONE attendee,” West and his Sunday Service “should be dissociated with such claims surrounding the food at the event,” Lauryn’s Fine Catering emphasized.

Looks like Ye’s #Brunchella turned out to be BrunchFromHella smh. They need to be ashamed. Those pale sausage patties and stiff pancakes looked like they went straight from the freezer to the microwave. Then there was the fake “VIP area”. Make it right Ye.
