Facebook is now FACEBOOK, in capital letters. The rebranding comes with the new logo, which will be in line with its sister products and services such as Instagram and WhatsApp.
The social network’s chief marketing officer Antonio Lucio announced the change in a blog post, which read, “We’re updating our company branding to be clearer about the products that come from Facebook.”
“We’re introducing a new company logo and further distinguishing the Facebook company from the Facebook app, which will keep its own branding,” he adds.
The company took on the “custom typography” to develop a distinguished look to reflect throughout its brand and its other offerings.
However, the in-your-face logo is getting slammed by Twitter users, who are tying references to baby boomers while dragging Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg into the jokes.
