Kaitlynn Carter Pens Essay On How She Fell For Miley Cyrus In ELLE Magazine
By Yimin Huang, 05 Nov 2019
Even though Miley Cyrus has seemingly moved on to her latest beau Cody Simpson and even gotten tattoos together, Kaitlynn Carter reminisced about their short relationship fondly.
The two dated for about a month after Cyrus’ separation from Liam Hemsworth.
In an essay written for ELLE magazine, she opened up about rediscovering her own sexuality and admitted that she was very much “in love” with the singer.
Though Carter did not mention Cyrus’ name directly, the insinuation was obvious. She talked about their vacation in July this year, and how “the next thing” she knew, she was in love. She admitted that before the vacation, she had no idea she would be “capable” of loving “a woman” as she did with Cyrus.
She thought about her past “romantic history” and said that she did not have a “type”. She also challenged the media’s narrative that their relationship was only a “summer fling”, saying instead that it was actually a “profound journey of self-discovery” for her.
Kaitlynn Carter disclosed that the two were long-time friends, and though she always had special feelings towards Cyrus, it was only cemented in that trip together. She said there was no analysis required as the moment felt “exactly right” when they got together.

“I still don’t feel like I’m in a place to label my sexuality one way or another, but I’m okay with that.” Kaitlynn Carter wrote a candid essay about her relationship with Miley Cyrus. https://t.co/esUpPJqi05— HuffPost (@HuffPost) November 4, 2019
