Like the hue of its monogram, the diss delivered by McDonald’s to urban design label Alexander Wang is gold.
On Thursday, the new york brand teased an image, conceptualized by artist Ada Sokół, of its €340 (US$374) Lunch Bag Clutch.
“Lookin’ like a snack,” the label captioned its post. The image shows the brown satin bag with a rolled-down opening and sparkling gold tips, against a red glossy backdrop.
Look familiar? You probably grab these back home regularly with fries inside.
Just hours after, McDonald’s in Saudi Arabia recreated the visual with its own Golden Arches-branded paper bag, complete with a folded top and glistening edges. “We did it first,” it proclaimed.
“@alexanderwangny it’s what’s inside that counts,” McDonald’s Kingdom of Saudi Arabia captioned its post.
The witty nugget was produced by advertising company Leo Burnett.
