Apple Watch has evolved to a point where it is suitable for most activities, including swimming. Now, reliable tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has an incredible track record of predicting the company’s product specs, anticipates that the Series 6 will take the swimmer-friendly feature to the next level.
According to a research note obtained by MacRumors, Kuo expects the circuit boards integrated in Series 6 to be created with liquid crystal polymer (LCP), which could potentially accelerate the performance of the next wearable WatchOS product.
Apple has explained that the present Series 5 is “designed with swimmers in mind,” but it is not compatible for “scuba diving, waterskiing,” or any other activities involving “high-velocity water or submersion” for greater depths.
With the anticipated increased water resistance of the 2020 series, though, users might be able to participate in the latter water activities with their Apple Watches on.
Apple often holds its events during certain periods of the year, and should it follow its annual schedule, the Apple Watch Series 6 could be out around September 2020.
The Series 5 was announced during the fall event on 10 September 2019 and was officially released on 20 September 2019. Take a look at its features below.
