The internet’s favorite Boomer Keanu Reeves will be featuring in the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants movie, Sponge on the Run. Earlier this year, the 55-year-old made a cameo in Netflix’s Always Be My Maybe and will now make a second appearance in the forthcoming animated film by Paramount Pictures.
The new movie will follow beloved Nickelodeon character SpongeBob SquarePants on a journey to find his pet snail Gary.
Reeves seems be some sort of an enlightened being in the physical manifestation of a magical tumbleweed, which, in a way, looks like a halo around the actor’s head.
“Call me sage,” the mythical Reeves says to SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, who are appalled by the John Wick presence. “I am made out of sage and I am a sage, so it works out pretty well,” he continues.
That is all the context audiences get. Reeves is a glowing deity-like character in the film, which is not so far from reality to many.
The actor has had quite a year, with the news of Reeves reprising his iconic role Neo for the fourth installment of The Matrix franchise.
