Netflix’s Michael Bay Film Gets Mocked Over ‘Incomprehensibly Bad’ Poster Design
By Yimin Huang, 18 Nov 2019
Director Michael Bay is reputed, and sometimes caricatured, for the abundance of explosions featured in his films.
Bay has partnered with Netflix to release an exclusive film called 6 Underground, and in true Michael Bay fashion, its poster is peppered with effects some might call gaudy.
The artwork has managed to fit in a number of typical Hollywood blockbuster motifs into one image, including explosions, guns, fast cars and a helicopter flying across an overcast sky.
Upon closer look, the scene might seem even more confusing and inconsistent. For instance, critics have noted a “heavily photoshopped” car with an unrealistically long front.
Slashfilm has even been so harsh as to call the poster the “worst iteration ever conceived.” In addition, VICE ridiculed the graphic for making no “conceivable sense” in the “physics” of the scenario depicted.
The poster’s vague tagline, which reads, “They say no one can save the world. Meet no one,” has also baffled viewers.
The film follows a team of vigilantes who have to fake their own deaths in order to both confront past sins and defeat criminals in their society, and is set for release on 13 December.

I'm looking forward to seeing @VancityReynolds in 6 Underground. It is just a shame that the poster for the movie looks worse than what they did to Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Mr. Reynolds, do you need help? Blink twice!— Bob Brinkman (@Ceronomus) November 18, 2019
