Trump’s Note In All Caps Scrawled With A Sharpie Inspires New Memes

Amidst the impeachment hearings, US president Donald Trump has been writing very large, official statements in all caps on a note pad. The writings have caught attention on social media and began to be remade into hilarious sharpie memes.
On Wednesday, Gordon Sondland reached Capitol Hill to give his testimony against Trump. He started by stating that Trump and his team were all “in the loop” about “quid pro quo” in Ukraine. On the other hand, Trump read from a statement written with a sharpie to the press outside the White House.
Looking at his scrawled notes in caps, Trump said Sondland was “screaming” at him asking what he wanted from Ukraine, to which his answer was “I want nothing,” with the emphasis “I want no quid pro quo,” per Mashable.
He also followed it up with “Tell Zelensky to do the right thing” though “Zelensky” seemed to be misspelled on his notes.
The capture photograph of his note pad quickly circulated on social media, with Twitter users comparing the notes to song lyrics.
For instance, one user called the notes the “first single” from “The National,” while another referenced the Alicia Keys song If I Ain’t Got You. One also pointed out the misspelled “Zellinsky” name on his scrawls.
This is not the first time Trump made news for using the sharpie. In September, he was accused of editing a hurricane map with the permanent marker, inciting the first batch of sharpie memes.

Irrelevant but Trump’s notes to himself always look so much like the poems my blind 93-year-old grandmother writes in sharpie and mails us on holidays and birthdays pic.twitter.com/66DRRhKpRJ— Laura Bassett (@LEBassett) November 20, 2019
