Fashion Blogger Shares Useful Hack On Tucking Bulky Sweaters Into Skirts
By Yimin Huang, 26 Nov 2019
During the winter season, attempts to look good in a sweater-and-skirt combo may be thwarted by the challenge of tucking the sweater in without looking “lumpy.”
BuzzFeed writer Sam Reece tweeted about the relatable struggle, claiming she was “three hours late” as she struggled with tucking “giant sweaters” into “tiny skirts.”
Fortunately, an influencer has shared a simple hack on TikTok that would rectify the problem without much hassle. The process involves a faux-tuck and a skinny belt, as revealed by fashion blogger Jess With Less.
In the video guide, the instructions begin with finding a skinny belt that is as close to the color of your sweater as possible. You are then told to put your belt the same position where you would like your sweater to appear “tucked in.”
The sweater has to be pulled up under the belt such that only “an inch or so” remains below the belt, according to Metro UK.
Finally, you can fold the remaining part of the sweater over the belt in order to hide it and make it look “tucked in.”
However, not everyone is a fan of the hack, as Sam Reece herself has seen the “belt method” and tweeted that “belts are dumb.” To each his or her own, at the end of the day.
