McDonald’s Australia has shared a “one-handed meal hack” that has left fans divided.
The fast food restaurant took to Instagram with an IKEA-inspired manual that guides customers on how to balance their burger boxes on top of their drinks, creating a pseudo-plate.
“Simply unfold your burger box and add fries to the tray,” McDonald’s explained. “Then perch it on your soft drink.”
To assemble your plate, you simply have to order a meal set that comes with a box. For example, a Big Mac or McNuggets meal.
After which, open the lid and place the box on top of your drink, ensuring its straw pokes through the hole between the fold. Pour fries on the other half of the box, and you can now apparently enjoy your meal with ease while you check your phone on the other hand.
However, social media users are questioning the trick’s feasibility, with one patron describing that their burger “fell to the ground” when they attempted to follow the steps.
“Putting hot food on a cold drink isn’t a good idea,” another user said.
Others who were intrigued by the idea said they would still try it out with their next McDonald’s meal.
