A$AP Rocky’s arrest in Sweden on assault charges was made an international sensation, spurring President Donald Trump to make an important call to “the very talented Prime Minister of Sweden” to free A$AP Rocky.
The rapper was released in August, and since then, he revealed that he has designed uniforms for the prison he was detained in. He told Forbes during an event in Los Angeles that when he reflected back to the time he was detained, he was reminded by the love he received from Swedish fans, and wanted to do something in return.
Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet shared that the garments will feature a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a track top with the word “PROMENVD” written across its front, along with a large “X” plastered on the back.
The meaning of the design is still unclear. Images of the uniform were purportedly unveiled by the head of Kronoberg prison, who claimed that A$AP Rocky’s lawyer had sent it to him.
A$AP Rocky also divulged to TMZ that a cut of proceeds from the upcoming Stockholm gig on 11 December 2019 will be donated to Swedish charity FARR, which aid refugees and immigrants nationwide.
He explained that he saw many people like him who did not have the kind of support they required, so as a celebrity, the rapper felt responsible to bring worldwide coverage to the issue.
“We had the American embassy,” he said, unlike many immigrants who do not have the same support, which triggered him to “give back.”
The rapper recently released his new track, Babushka Boi. Check it out below.
