Japanese Beauty Giant Unveils Spray-On Second Skin That Covers Up Blemishes
By Izza Sofia, 29 Nov 2019
Tokyo-based cosmetics giant Kao Corp is selling a new line of products that will give you a futuristic second skin.
Called Biomimesis Veil, the skincare series arrives in the form of a spray-on liquid, a diffuser and a cosmetic liquid.
The products form an artificial skin once they come in contact with human skin, and cover up any blemishes or scars while moisturizing the skin.
Kao adds that it uses Fine Fiber Technology to create a thin layer of small liquid fibers that form a thin membrane.
The layer then blends into the person’s natural skin and fortifies it with moisture.
The line will first be limited to Japan before being available globally in 2020. The skincare items will retail from JP¥8,000 (US$73) to JP¥50,000 (US$456).
Speaking about the cutting-edge variety, Kao’s president Michitaka Sawada expressed confidence that the company’s sales might top JP¥100 billion should the technology be adopted by medical markets.
