Apple Announces 2019’s Best Apps & Games, With YouTube Reigning Supreme

Apple’s latest event in New York City shines a light on its standout apps this year.
The apps that made the list this year include artsy ones such as Spectre Camera, which assists in capturing long-exposure photos, to practical ones like Affinity, a desktop publishing app for Mac.
Other apps that made the list comprise Sayonara Wild Hearts—Apple Arcade’s Game of the Year—and Flow by Moleskine—the App of the Year for the iPad.
Apple also provided details on its most-downloaded apps, a ranking dominated by YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and Messenger.
In addition, Apple announced its first-ever Apple Music Awards, its answer to the VMAs and AMAs. The tech giant crowned Billie Eilish as its Global Artist and Songwriter of the Year. Lizzo, on the other hand, stood out as Apple’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Apple is planning to hold a live awards ceremony at the Steve Jobs Theater on 4 December.
