You’ve seen your fair share of bad holiday card greetings. Perhaps it’s time for humans to take a short interval and let the bots handle things for awhile.
The folks at innovation consultancy R/GA London are kicking off the festive season with a bit of creative flair from tech. In a project called Happy Holid.ai, the company enlisted AI to do its copywriting, combining the results with art from human creatives.
A computer was fed with hundreds of holiday greetings, quotes, and songs to train it to write its own festive headlines, and R/GA designers and artists later paired the resulting messages with suitable illustrations.
The greetings are a tad outlandish, but R/GA London says in a statement via Muse by Clio that the project shows how people and technology can work together to “open up new creative possibilities.”
While several experiments portray AI in a “messed up” light, R/GA London says it “wanted to create something charming, warm and positive; a true collaboration.”
