It’s 2020, and a fun party isn’t just about the chips or company anymore. To help make your next gathering one to remember in the best way possible, IKEA has teamed up with consumer electronics company Teenage Engineering for a dedicated, quirky collection that brings more color and less mess to house parties.
The upcoming FREKVENS line—scheduled to drop in February 2020—expands IKEA’s fairly new range of speakers with portable, modular music products, the stars of this vibrant selection. After all, FREKVENS means “frequency” in English.
The series includes a US$69.99 eight-inch-tall, Bluetooth-enabled speaker with a 10-hour battery life in colors black and red or black and yellow. For more bass, homeowners might wish to invest in the US$149 speaker with a subwoofer. Those on the go will probably prefer the US$19.99 portable speaker with a belt clip.
In addition, the FREKVENS line features chic spotlights, stackable tableware, spill-free furniture, tripods, bar stools and even a raincoat for “the ultimate home party.”
“IKEA is furniture, meatballs and soon… Party,” details Jesper Kouthoofd, founder and head of design at Teenage Engineering.
