Disney hopes to instill some cheer in the midst of the novel coronavirus wave by releasing its highly-anticipated film, Frozen 2, three months before its initial release date on Disney+.
Frozen 2, which appeared in theaters in November last year, prematurely dropped on Disney+ on 15 March 2020 for US audiences, while Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand will soon enjoy the sequel on 17 March 2020.
Disney announced that its decision was an attempt to surprise “families with some fun and joy during this challenging period.” With COVID-19 continuing to spread around the globe, many have opted to self-quarantine as a measure to prevent loved ones and those in their surrounding from contracting the virus.
Now, families can keep themselves entertained with the animated film. Disney also unveiled the video-on-demand release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on 15 March 2020, a couple of days before its scheduled launch on Tuesday, 17 March 2020.
