The Knives Out murder would have been solved more quickly if everyone had chosen to self-isolate.
In director Rian Johnson’s latest whodunnit, everyone is a suspect for the murder of 85-year-old Harlan Thrombey (played by Christopher Plummer). Investigator Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) would have cracked the case sooner if he hadn’t had to hear the dovetailing tales of an entire family.
To advocate safe distancing, the Knives Out social channels shared an edited version of the movie poster, giving it the title of Knives Out: The Social Distancing Cut.
The artwork shows just three out of the 11 characters, and depicts Craig’s Benoit Blanc, Chris Evans’ Ransom Drysdale and Ana de Armas’ Marta Cabrera standing far apart from each other, with Ransom and Marta almost being out of shot.
In comparison, the original poster showcases the star-studded cast all squeezed into a photo, their shoulders almost brushing against each other’s.
This is frowned-upon today, as people around the world are being encouraged to self-isolate until the novel coronavirus is contained.
In related news, director Rian Johnson says you can identify the villain in a movie by looking at the phone the character is holding.
