“Staying apart is the best way to stay united,” Coca-Cola’s billboard in Times Square reads. The campaign, aimed to promote social distancing, was created to remind people to stay indoors during the coronavirus outbreak.
Created in collaboration with marketing and communications agency Mercado McCann in Argentina, the billboard is presented in the brand’s signature red background, but its closely-linked script logo is now spaced out to encourage bystanders to keep a safe distance from each other.
The company has taken initiatives to protect its workers by setting up additional sanitation and cleaning practices. It also urged many employees to work from home, and restricted visitors to its manufacturing facilities, per Campaign US.
The Coca-Cola Foundation has also done its part in combating the COVID-19 crisis by donating to relief efforts located in various countries such as China, Italy, the United States, and Canada.
