Great news for kids, probably not-so-good news for parents at home. Despite it being almost seven years since Frozen first hit theaters, Disney hasn’t let it go—and actually has more to show from the hit film.
Faced by the mundanity of working from home, the folks at Walt Disney Animation Studios are releasing a new At Home with Olaf animated digital series. The entire project was created from the participants’ own homes.
The series of shorts, helmed by animation director and Moana’s animation lead Hyrum Osmond, stars Josh Gad’s naive snowman. It utilizes existing character designs and backdrops, with new dialogue and sounds by Gad.
Explaining the project on Twitter, Gad described, “My friends Jennifer Lee and Hyrum Osmond called me up one day, and asked me if I would be able to record some dialogue and sounds as Olaf from home.”
The team hopes the animated shorts will offer some solace to families around the world as they stay indoors to contain the coronavirus. “These little shorts done from home by Hyrum and the Disney Animation team are so charming, and [will] hopefully provide a smile during these scary times,” the actor added.
The first episode of At Home with Olaf has been released, and you can enjoy it below.
Disney plans to release new At Home with Olaf content each week. The first episode is now available, and you can enjoy it below.
