Billie Eilish has appeared to unfollow everyone on Instagram to show solidarity with survivors of abuse.
Her fans speculated that Eilish made the move after she took to Instagram Stories yesterday to post the message, “If I am following your abuser DM me & I will unfollow them. I support you.” The message was subsequently deleted.
She unfollowed everyone from Ariana Grande to Chris Brown and her account currently shows that she is only following one user. However, it doesn’t display any information about the account, so it could be a software glitch.
According to Business Insider, the singer unfollowed everyone after she suffered backlash for posting the message on Instagram Stories, but she was still following numerous male celebrities who have been accused of abuse.
These men include Chris Brown, who has been accused of domestic abuse, Justin Bieber, who is accused of sexual assault and XXXTentacion, who abused his pregnant girlfriend before he died.
Eilish has yet to comment on her move.
