PrettyLittleThing has left customers in hysterics for selling a “face mask” made out of fishnet.
Dubbed ‘Black Diamante Fishnet Mask’, the £10 (US$18) mask has been called “useless” by social media users. The mask is made up of fishnet style material with rhinestones all over it. While it might just be an accessory, other social media users mocked it as it provided no coverage over the mouth or nose.
One Twitter user shared a photo of the mask, writing, “Think PLT missed the point.” Many internet users have voiced out their thoughts on the covering with one user sarcastically tweeted, “well isn’t this a good mask.”
The fashion brand, however, has written on its website that the statement item, and its other fashionable masks aren’t for personal protective purposes.
“Please note that this mask is not personal protective equipment, PrettyLittleThing do not claim any medical benefits of using this product. Therefore, please still follow and practice all relevant social distancing guidelines. This product cannot be returned due to hygiene reasons,” the website wrote as a disclaimer.
