Bobby Berk, interior design expert of Netflix’s Queer Eye, offered an inside look into his home office in California with House Beautiful.
Right off the bat, the designer emphasized that your space should be uniquely you. For Berk, colors drive him “crazy,” so he opted for neutral tones and simple patterns. He also chose to layer in some warm tones to give his surroundings a slight pop of color.
Ultimately, Berk wanted his space to look more like an “office spa” with multiple purposes. There is a space for him to work, extra chairs for his team members, and a comfortable chair at the side for him to cozy up with a book.
He also decided to bring the window drapes all the way to the roof to make the small space look taller than it actually is, and placed the drapes wall to wall to make it seem wider.
Many often place their office furniture by the wall, but he keeps his office table in the middle for some space to move around. It is also strategically placed in front of the amazing view of California’s hills.
For storage spaces, he has multiple small sections to keep things organized but also has large cupboards with adjustable lengths to customize it according to his needs.
