It appears that the House of Mouse is no place for a Fox to roam about in. After shedding off the “Fox” in 20th Century Fox to rename the acquired film studio as 20th Century Studios, Disney has now announced a major rebrand that sees new names for the television studios formerly known as 20th Century Fox Television, ABC Studios/ABC Signature, and Fox 21 Television Studios.
Now under the Disney Television Studios family as a result of a US$71.3 billion acquisition, 20th Century Fox Television will now be known simply as 20th Television. ABC Studios and its cable partner ABC Signature have since merged as one under the ABC Signature name.
As for Fox 21 Television Studios, it will have a completely different moniker altogether—Touchstone Television—after the television brand that Disney sunsetted in 2007. However, the new Touchstone Television will retain the Fox 21 Television Studios serif typeface for brand recognition.
With all three brands under one studio, they’ll no longer sport their “Studios” titles too.
According to Deadline, the overhauls are “effective immediately,” but the logos will only be wholly incorporated into the Disney Television Studios brand by the end of the year.
