Nickelback’s tweet yesterday was meant to hype internet users, but the result was quite the opposite.
The band tweeted, “Friday 8/14,” hinting that it might be releasing its first album in three years. However, social media users weren’t excited at all, ridiculing the Canadian rockers instead.
“Hearing they’re going to release an album so bad it’ll force coronavirus to leave the planet forever. Thanks, Nickelback,” a Twitter user joked. “Wait, so now Nickelback are dropping a song/album? Jesus Christ 2020, calm down,” another user teased.
Some internet users, though, came to the defense of the band. “Reminder that you people only hate Nickelback because it’s trendy and that they make bangers,” a fan wrote. “This album is gonna slap.”
