Nike Unveils ‘Anti-Sneaker’ For Quarantiners To Just ‘Do Nothing’ At Home

Here’s some Nike footwear that couch potatoes can get behind, after continuously breaking their records of how long they can plank (flatly on their backs in front of their screens, watching Netflix) and complete their daily stretches (of reaching for the remote).

The sportswear giant has unleashed the ‘Nike Offline’, a design it calls an “anti-sneaker silhouette” that rewards you for “doing nothing” with more comfort.

The mule, available in black and white, features two interchangeable sensory drop-in midsoles that you can swap based on your overall mood or stress level. The first features massage-like nubs to relieve tension, while the other is an everyday option with a “greater volume nub pattern” for prolonged wear.

The silhouette also comes with an “exaggerated” exposed-foam tongue padding along with an adjustable cushioned strap for that feeling of being hugged by clouds.

Nike explains that the Offline shoe is inspired by “the mental health benefit of taking time to unplug and disconnect,” and acknowledges the moments when “‘doing nothing’ is the most important thing for you to recharge.”

The Nike Offline is part of Nike Sportswear’s concept-driven N. 354 range, which endeavors to solve problems with experimentation in utilitarian and vanguard styles.

It will go on sale on Nike’s SNKRS app, SNEAKERS, and at participating retailers, on 28 August.
