Vita Coco Puts Up Unfinished Billboard, Will Hire Best Designer Who Completes It

Coconut water brand Vita Coco has launched a new campaign to seek aspiring designers.
The company placed a large billboard in Los Angeles with the message reading, “Complete us,” and “Now hiring [junior] designers.”
The majority of the billboard is left empty with green space and the unfinished tagline, “It starts with…” asking for prospects to finish off the advert.
Interested applicants can take a photo of the billboard, or download the assets from its website. Then, they will have to design the green screen and upload the completed ad to Instagram or Twitter, while tagging Vita Coco and adding in the hashtags “#CompleteVC” and “#Entry.”
Vita Coco will reward the first 100 submissions with a year’s worth of subscription to Squarespace, and the top 10 designers will each receive US$1,000 in cash.
Of course, the ultimate winner will join Vita Coco’s team as a junior designer, and the best entry will replace the incomplete advert on Sunset Boulevard.
A billboard company in New York City discovered the campaign and offered to place the ad for free in the city. The brand is planning to take up this opportunity, according to Muse by CLIO.
