A San Francisco-based blogger has been slammed for uploading controversial photos of herself on Instagram. The photos showed her posing in a ballgown against a sky smoldered from the Californian wildfires.
Colette LeClair, who has over 30,000 followers on Instagram, shared photos of her posing on the beach before she moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Although she captioned that the images were taken during her “last days here,” author Caroline Moss was swift to point out that that the photo was more insensitive than sentimental.
LeClair wore an orange gown that matched the burnt orange skies. She also included a link for where to buy the tulle gown in her caption.
“We live in hell,” Moss tweeted. “This is an influencer who just posted a photo of clothing she’s selling by ‘posing in it’ on the beach in San Francisco as forest fires rage around her.” The tweet has since been taken down.
LeClair has since changed her Instagram caption and disabled the comments section. “Wanted to say goodbye to the ocean and beach and do something I used to enjoy so much here for years—TRIPOD PHOTOS,” the edited version reads. “Currently gathering a lot of clothes to donate.”
Social media users, however, are still upset despite her caption change. “She changed and caption and turned off comments, but still selling the dress,” a Twitter user writes. “Girl, your state is literally on fire,” another tweets.

May be her agent talked her into believe the next photoshoot is in Mars, so let us rehearse one before they head out to red planet. She disabled the comments to this post. She knew what was coming. #tonedeaf— Faaju AlFatah (@FaajuAlFatah) September 10, 2020

Some influencers deserve to get all their followers and income taken away... Nelk boys telling others to ignore covid-19 redtrictions etc., fuck you.
